These short articles form a brief introduction to the local geology of Oxfordshire and building stone in a wider context. The Oxfordshire Building Stone article is by Bill Horsfield, who entertained the group with a similarly titled talk in 2012. This led to the production of a review of Hanney building materials which is attached below.
Anyone with a particular interest in the local geology should explore the mostly free resources available on the British Geological Survey website which offers a detailed view of any British site and a host of links to other European sites too. Both links below should be useful and give many hours pleasure.
