- Holmes of Hanney by Frank Poller. This work summarises the life of a famous Hanney philanthropist and free thinker, who carried out many good works in the village and sought to help the population of the world reduce poverty by birth control.

- Late Victorian Hanney. This survey is the outcome of a project which sought to describe the reality of rural life, and often poverty, through the memories of villagers who recalled those years or through the stories their families retained. It’s a fascinating time capsule.
