1066-1750

This 684 year period should soon contain a large number of articles referring to the early history of Hanney. It covers many of our listed buildings and also most changes to St James the Great. If you have any references from this early period, please send them to any history group committee member. Contact details should be found at the beginning of this site. At the moment we have just one article, describing the possibilities surrounding Hanney’s third Mill: Giffards.  Thanks to Paul Sayers for this donation of the mill, which will probably have existed before the Conquest and its Domesday reference, but certainly will have survived into this period too.
